pioneer dvr-110d firmware update to 1.39 problem

I just update the firmware from 1.37 to 1.39. Now the burner won't reconize any disc. I found a program called DVRupdate 0.9 that is supposed to downgrade firmware. I downloaded 1.37 firmware and extracted it to a folder. I installed dvrupdate to the same folder. I deleted the upgr110d and am left with rb100011.137 and rb100111.137. I opened dvrupdate and have 3 positions to fill. Device, Kernel and Normal. I click on Device and chose Pioneer, I click on Kernel and dvrupdate brought up Rb100011.137 and so I clicked on it and pressed open. Then I clicked on Normal and dvrupdate brought up rb100111.137 and so I opened it. Then I click on Start and was rewarded with this error. "Step 1: to kernel mode, Error, because Scsi error with ASC:26 ASCQ:0!" What the heck does that mean?
