Ok, I am looking for a SATA dvd=-r, and I am looking at the LITE-ON Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 20X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA DVD Burner with LightScribe - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106072 I will be using it as a ripper and writer. I believe this is a good drive, but my main concern is that i hear how touchy these drives are in regards to media. Where can I find a list of what media is compatible? If someone has a better drive for me to consider, please post it up as well. My budget is about $100. Thanks in advance.
Hi ;-) This Lite-On can be very good, but seems to need to 'burn in'. Settle if you like. As for media, you can't go wrong with either Verbatim & Taiyo Yuden. If using LS media then Verbatim.
