Been on before, but very very new to computers. Hopefully someone can help explain to me in simple terms this problem. I downloaded a movie using Azureus, it downloaded fine. I then went to play in media player and only the sound was there, no picture. I tried to convert to disc using convertxtodvd. It showed that convert was complete, but when I tried to play it, it would not read. I tried it in a dvd player and it said no disc. I played the movie in VLC media player, via Azureus, and it was fine. I also have the same problem trying to burn digital photos to disc. When I try to view them on a dvd player, it says no disc. What am I doing wrong?
Having no video could be the lack of a CODEC (Compressor Decompressor) that can handle it. I belive there is a CODEC pack on this site somewhere. Somebody will post it for you to try. It could also be a bad file that simply has no video. If you look arround media player you should notice a tiny hard to find red exclimation mark (!) Click on that and it will tell you what problem it is having with the file. Just wait until you get one where the video is upside down. (That is also a CODEC issue) -Del
It could be a codec issue, try installing this : http://www.divx-digest.com/software/divx_total_pack.html it plays most things. let me know.
Downloaded codec package and video plays ok now in media player. When I try to burn to disc it shows not responding. I clicked on possible problems and it said file was too big. Why would this be??? It is only a movie, and I'm trying to burn it to a 4.7mb disc. I'm baffled.
What are the steps you are taking to get this on DVD? First off you cant just burn a .AVI or .MPG to DVD and expect it to play. It needs to be converted to DVD format (VOB files) The VOBs must be no bigger than 1 gig each. There are many programs that will do this for you. I use SVCD2DVD for the conversion. There is a demo at svcd2dvd.com . It is a cheap program. There are other meathods but take a bunch of steps. You may get posts on different ways of doing this. The conversion in SVCD2DVD will take awhile but you only need to go through one step and it does all the other steps in the other methods. It will make the VOBs the right size for you. I then use Nero to burn the files to DVD. IF you are in USA make sure you set SVCD2DVD to NTSC default is PAL. PAL will not play in US dvd players but will play on your computer. Hope this information helps out. -Del
Hi, you may need 2 goto DIGG.com and search out articles on fake torrents, as I believe that from Azureus is a torrent site. Your problems may stem from that issue. B careful and play hard.
