Playback as to be in Fast Forward...?

    Itried burning a SVCD (was in bin,cue format)with about all the programs i could find. The only ones that work are Alcohol and cdrwin. But the catch is that now, when i playback on my DVD, i have to put them in fast forward. If i don't, the image is choppy. In fast forward it's not that bad, a little out of sinc but merely. I burned at 2x and 1 x speed, since faster speeds gave me no image only sound. Anyone have any idea about this ? Player is a Panasonic.

    Does it play okay on computers or is it just standalone dvd players?

    It plays ok on my computer, it's only when i put it in my standalone DVD player.

    Perhaps your standalone does not play vbr encoded SVCD??? Is it VBR?? and have you played SVCD before in your dvd player??

    It's a new player got it a month ago. Says in specifications that it plays Svcd....Oh well

    yes SVCD but VBR is different man! some only play CBR and yes media could be the source of this tragic problem ;-)

    Is there a way to record in CBR?

    Well you wouldnt be recording in CBR you would just be settiong your encoder to constant birate! :)

    The files are in .bin format, and i use Alcohol to burn them. So i would have to transfer them in another format and re-encode them, using what program?

    hmm ok, mount them with alcohol and download VCDEasy, then click tools - mpeg tools. You will see a program called CDXA2MPEG. Load in the avseq01.mpg file from the MPEG2 folder on the bin file into the dat file field, and in the mpeg file field, select somewhere to save an mpg file.

    Then when it has the file, get TMPGEnc, and click file - project wizard and there you can pick a cbr value for SVCD!
