Got couple of vcdistro files, but not getting any video or sound in WMP or divx players. Would appreciate any help on the player and/or codecs required for the vcdistro.
You probably shouldn't mention where you get your files from. Are your movies AVI or MPEG? Use G-spot to find out what kind of audio compression they have. Get it here: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/download.html
Did not think that I mentioned where I got my files from, just the type of files. I guess vcdistro is not a type but a place. Thanks for gspot link. Will give it a try.
files are avi and gspot reported 3 codecs on my box that should be able to show the file, but still don't get any video or sound in WMP 9.
There is some kind of conflict probably caused by one of the older codecs that WMP isn't able to resolve(obviously). I suggest you use another player until you get it sorted out. One of my favorites is Media Player Classic which can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=82303&package_id=84358 Zoom Player is another good one.
