Having problems when i try to copy a backup copy. I have a vertical line down the screen about2/3 the way across. I can track the picture back across with my < > keys via the remote but has anyone else had this problem and maybe of found the cause. I have tried to playback in several different plays including JVC and Toshiba. Im using pioneer A106 with nero6-11 and win98se.
I was copying a backup copy for someone else. I was just using nero straight copy. Also tried transfering disc contents onto hard drive and writing using record now and nero again. Same result on each occassion. Im begining to think that the back up has been encoded.
I am not totally sure if I understand the comments about you made on your problem. You may want to run the program through TMPGenc by going to file tools and edit menu and seleting the entire movie and running it through TMPGenc. Make sure you have it copy the movie into the proper orginal formatte. In other words if your back up is VCD make sure you have change the arrow setting to VCD. TMPGenc will somtimes fix little errors that you have. Geesh other than that I am clueless. Sounds like it could be a problem with your DVD players. I have heard toshiba is the one to have. I use Apex and have found it to play anything I have obtained. I know Dela doesn't like them cause they are cheap but heck for fourty bucks you can pick one up and always have it handy for those really persnickety(sp.) movies.
Thanks for your ideas Phantom, since reading your reply i tried the copy in a mates Apex and it was still split. Ive also backed up a couple of my original disks using smartripper & dvd2one and they come out perfect. The problem i still have is that i have a copy disk i am trying to back up that gives me a split screen when i copy it. I have also ruled the copy disk out by buying a copied movie from a market and when i copy that, that does the same...split screen.
Tried the same disks in a maxim player from woolworths uk and these disks play perfect in this player. So its a standalone issue i need to get round to get em to play in my tosh sd110e. Any ideas on how i could re-rip these disks in order to get em to work with my tosh.
Hmm well seems to me that you may want to use a different meathod for transfering your DVD material. Not sure if this will help you but you might beable to do what you need to do by using DVD2AVI. Try this website:http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/111846.php or even this:http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdripping your current method of copying is a stand alone issue but if you went with another way to copy it might place the files in the format that other DVD players can use. Definately stop in our channel #ad_buddies and Praetor or Darth can suggest other methods since they are more into the DVD burning than I am.
