Hopefully this is in the right forum, if not I apologize in advance. I have 2 liteon DVD drives, a sohw-1673s and a shw-160p65. When using the sohw-1673s and memorex 8x media, I can not playback dvd on a durabrand portable DVD player. The shw-160p65 on the other hand with the same memorex 8x media plays just fine on the portable unit. Both have the latest firmware upgrades. The 1673s however does play on the protable unit if I burn at a slower than 8x speed. Any ideas why the problem???? And BTW im using nero express to write the DVD. Erich
The problem is the media. Memorex is some of the worst you can buy. Use quality media such as Verbatim, TY, Sony (made in Japan) or Fuji (made in Japan) and the problem will disappear.
