Hello to everyone, I'm new to this website and forum but I am finding it very helpful already. Lots of helpful people around here!!!

I have been reading some of the threads to figure out what I have done wrong but can't seem to figure it out. I am pretty new to this burning of DVDs.

I am using Nerosmart V6.0. What I am doing right now is using Nero to capture video from my VHS recorder. From there, Nero saves it in mpeg format and then I use the "Make DVD-Video" and put it onto DVD. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in the process but I follow the steps from adding headers/footers to backgrounds, etc. After my first burn/rip (i don't know the correct terminology here), it put it in my DVD player (Toshiba) and it would not read, so then i realized that it was a DVD R/W. I did another burn back on a DVD R and put it back in the DVD player, it now reads and shows the initial starup screen but I cannot play it. I see everything from the new chapters i added, but it just won't let me select a chapter or even play. I then borrowed my friends cheap portable dvd player and it read it and played it. It also plays on my pc dvd just fine.

Has anyone ran into this problem and know what I can do in this situation? maybe I'm missing something during the setup phase here??

Any suggestions would really help me!

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it is just a compatability issue with your Toshiba stand alone, from what I hear they are a little finicky when it comes to playing backups.

I guess I can try it on another DVD player and see what happens....

kind of bugging me as this was my first DVD I have converted from VHS to DVD and I would like to watch it on my big screen to see the quality of transfer.

Just my luck to buy a Toshiba! Has another else had this problem before?
