Would you please tell me what would be the cheapest hardware to buy to be able to watch my avi movies on my regular tv. Encoding with software takes ages. I heard about a dvd player that does play avi or mpeg files or divx or xvid files. then I also read about multimedia hard disk player. I dont need much storage as I will be watching the avi movie than erasing it for the next. Could anyone please advise me on the cheapest hardware to buy. thanks

    Here ya go 50$ http://shop.store.yahoo.com/discountsonline/phdvprscdvdp.html

You will be hard pressed though to find any one player that will play every type of video format in fact I know you won't find one. As long as you are downloading a movie from the internet you will never know for sure what format you are getting.. Best bet is to buy a nice computer monitor and just watch them on there or better yet you can get a cheap video card for your computer that has TV out like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814142021 for under $25

Hope that helps you out a little :)

Even if you don't have the connectors there is always an RF Modulator.
