EXCUSE AKK CPAS, IT'S A DISABILITY ISSUE WITH MY HANDS, I'M NOT BEING RUDE OR SHOUTING, I PROMISE. MY QUESTION IS SO BASIC I'M ALMOST AFRAID TO ASK IT REALLY. ONE OF MY OLDER KIDS BOUGHT ME A NEW DVD PLAYER FOR CHRISTMAS, AND IT CAN PLAY DIVX FILES AND ALMOST ALL THE FILE TYPES I HAVE READ ABOUT. MY QUESTION IS THIS: HOW DO I TRANSFERE A DIVX FILE TO A CD OR DVD FOR PLAYING IN MY NEW PLAYER? I THOUGHT I NEEDED TO BURN IT WITH NERO PREMIUM, BUT THE ENTIRE PROCESS FAILED. A FRIEND SUGGESTED THAT HE BELIEVED I NEED ONLY ADD THE DIVX FILE TO A CD USING THE "MAKE A DATA DISC" OPTION AND THE PLAYER WILL AUTOMATICALLY READ IT. IS HE CORRECT? IF SO, CAN I SIMPLY PLACE SEVERAL DIVX FILES ON A DVD IN THE SAME WAY AND EXPECT THEM TO PLAY? I HAVE CHECKED THROUGH ALL THE GUIDES ON AFTERDAWN BUT SO FAR HAVN'T FOUND ANY INFO ON THIS SUBJEC T. IF A GUIDE DOES EXIST AND I HAVE MISSED IT, OR MISREAD IT, I APOLOGISE. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL INVOLVED IN RUNNING THE AFTERDAWN SITES, I ENJOY VISITING THEM AND THE MEMBERS APPEAR TO BE VERY HELPFUL AND MATURE, ALWAYS A BONUS!! CHEERS, PCASSO IRELAND BTW, THE PLAYER IS A SONY
If the player is capable of reading XVid's then only burn the files as data. You can burn 6 files (if they are ~700mg files to a dvd disk) and the player will read them all. You don't need to do any conversions or anything else with Nero justr a simple data disk is sufficient.
thats right burn as data, buy a few dvdrw then you can use your discs like vhs tapes over and over again and 1 disc will hold loads of films.
THANK YOU GUYS, I JUST WANTED TO BE ABLE TO "QUCK START" MY USE OF THE PLAYER UNTIL I CAN FOLLOW MORE OF THE GUIDES ON THE SITE AND THEN BEGIN TO BACK UP MY DVD'S, COPY OVER THE HOURS OF VHS TAPES OF FAMILY EVENTS AND HOLIDAYS OVER THE YEARS AND ARCHIVE THEM ON DVD'S BEFORE THE VHS TAPES DEGRADE TOO BADLY TO BE WORTH WHILE. I HOPE I CAN COME BACK LATER WHEN I HAVE WET MY FEET A LITTLE MORE FOR FURTHER ADVICE? THANKS AGAIN, CHEERS, PCASSO IRELAND
