Ok, so I`m a complete noob when it comes to this stuff, but I heard good things about this community, and so I thought I`d give it a shot. Recently, I purchased a new PC, being an HP PAVILION desktop. At first, I wasn`t going to use it for gaming, but I thought that if I could shell out some cash on a new video card, that it would be alright for the time being. However, I opened it up, and my friend had given me one of his older ATI RADEON video cards to use, but It would not fit into the PCI slot in my computer. As of now, the computer has Intel(R) HD Graphics Family, which is integrated graphics. I`m not sure what this means, but because it`s integrated, does that mean that my motherboard cannot support any upgrades of any sort? Can I fix this? Please help me out guys! no,you can definitely upgrade your gpu.the old card is probably an agp card.if you have pci slots thats the card you need to look for.
is this your product http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...n&jumpid=reg_r1002_uken&lc=en&product=5099038 ? if so you have pci/e x16
have to watch what pci\e 16 videocard you get because of your 250w power supply. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...=ca&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=5099038#N328
250w isnt a lot of power supply for much of a video card.if it was me i would upgrade that at the same time i upgraded my video card.
