I used to be able to play all my movies fine (using divx codec etc.) until one day i installed some new codecs (cant remember what). Since then whenever i try playing a video my media player locks up and wont play it. I deleted all my codecs using the information from other posts and this stopped media player freezing but just went bk to it telling me i needed the codecs to play. I reinstalled only the required codec (divxplay) but now it just locks up again! Maybe i havent deleted all the codecs and there is a conflict or something? and if so is there a program that could delete them all? Please someone help Im completely stuck
Try running BigFix http://www.free-codecs.com/download/BigFix.htm Then install CCCP http://www.cccp-project.net/ . Should fix most problems. CCCP is the least intrusive playback pack i've met. Note that this is ONLY playback pack. Any encoding work would require installing genuine codecs.
oh my fuckin god. i am sorry for swearing but its the only way i can express myslef this much I have tons of video editing to do and i couldnt use any DIVX files for months.
