Please help me fix an XBOX

    To make a long story short, my brother softmodded his XBOX and our nephew started deleting files from the installation menu.

    We now turn the xbox on and it goes right to a screen that says "XBOX LIVE IS NOT RESPONDING PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER" and it will do nothing else.

    All I know about what happened is that our nephew was left alone with the xbox and my brothers girlfriend caught him deleting files and she panicked and turned the XBOX off to try to stem the damage.

    I don't know much about softmodding and my XBOX has an Xecuter 3 chip in it but we really need your help!!!


    Is it possible to contact a local person that installs chips/softmods and see if they have an 8GB hard drive that was from a previously unmodded XBOX and replace the HD in this broken XBOX.

    Please help as it would be greatly appreciated.

    Can you boot from dvd before the error?

    whoever softmodded it has to have a game and memory card that was used for the original mod. You should always be able to use these to FTP to the xbox and re-install the software needed. The only time the xbox cannot be accessed this way is if the bios itself was changed or deleted which cannot be done through the apps.
