Hello peeps, I had been once cheated by Best Buy with the extended warranty very recently and I am in the process of filing complaints on them. But anyways, coming to the matter - I had decided not to buy any crappy notebooks from Compaq and be cheated yet again, so I am plannin to buy one from Dell. I am a computer engineer myself and feel a bit embarassed to ask this question - "What is a good/decent configuration out there". I have kept track on the processors until Pentium M Centrino but soon lost track with some many "Dual Core" processors. In fact, I kept on postponing myself from doing some research or posting in forums like this. But it has become high time to know before I lose some good deal for Thanksgiving just because I did not know what to pick up. So enough of prologue.... I am looking for a laptop to do: > Mostly browsing > Heavy DVD ripping and burning > Huge downloading > Occasionally watching movies and working with Adobe Paintshop My preferences are : > At least a 15.4 wide screen (would like bigger screens though) > Complete black colored lappy So guys, please help me out in deciding which is the best among processors that came after Centrino and - oh did I forget to mention about "affordability" (remember I already got ripped by some maggots). In fact, it would greatly help me if someone gave me a comparison of Dell processors. Take care y'all....and keep up the good work!
your a couple weeks late. Dell just had a great offer. I brought one with everything you wanted, 120 gig hd, 1 gig memory, nine cell lithium battery and not bad graphics for about $1500. You should keep an eye out for any more offers dell.com has. I would expect the things you asked for would be standard with any new laptop. But i would think it would cost you at least 1500-2000$
