I have a hard modded xbox and i've been running Avalaunch as my dash board for nearly 2 years without having no problem what so ever. But, today when i was trying to install XBMC as my dashboard, i needed to rename the original boot file (usually avalaunch.xbe) with the new one that i got from some website and i'm pretty sure i followed all the instruction correctly inorder to intall XBMC. And yet, Now when I boot with chip i go straight to the regular xbox starting screen instead of booting to avalaunch. I've tried numerous ways to fix this thing, but cannot seem to connect to my xbox via FTP since i can nolonger boot to avalaunch. I just need to rename the file to as it originally was. Any suggestions?
Download and use AID 3.0 It's a boot disc that will run from startup and you can then choose which dashboard you want as a boot and it will install everything for you! It really is that easy!
Is there any other way to connect to my xbox without having to download and install this AID software? all i need to do is just rename the file.
from what i had been told what you should do when changing dashboards is rename the XBMC.XBE dash file to what the current one is. http://www.xtreme-source.com/tutorials-xbox/517-changing-your-default-dashboard.html that is a normal change, i know it is slightly different when you use XBMC as a dash. Most people say it is a bit buggy though and you are better off using a standar dash like UnleashX or Avalaunch.
