Ok I have a Samsung 950 cellphone and I'm trying to get videos that I downlaoded from my computer on my phone so that I can play the videos on there. I have a Transflash which I'm trying to copy the video to but when I drag and drop it in there a error message comes up and tells me that I'm not able to copy it because the media is written protected. I would like to know how I would be able to get this to work for me. Or where could I go to download non written protected videos that I would be able to sync into my cellphone. Someone please help me.
Your Samsung will only play videos in .3gp or .3g2 format. Encode them using Super, Nokia Media, or Quicktime Pro into this format, then (if 3gp) put them in the Media folder on the transflash, or (if 3g2) into the DCIM/100SSMED folder. The first will play through the media player, the second will play through the Pics/Videos option on your phone. How large is the transflash card you have?
Make them yourself. Get "Super video converter", Xilisoft, Nokia's media converter, or a very simple one called "3gp converter". Super does the best job, and is free. Put a tick in high quality, select Sony/Ericcson 3gp or 3g2, 176x144 size, 11:9 ratio, and 23.98fps or faster (25fps is good for most stuff, depending on the framerate of the original). 64kbps video, 24kbps audio. Upload to your transflash card (into the folders mentioned above), and play on your phone.
Ok I have it now thanks very much you all. I used Nokia's Media Converter to do it and now it plays and everything. Again, thanks alot.
