I ripped an episode of the OC off of my box set with dvd decrypter and when i put it into videora iPod Converter, it takes 5, 7 hours to convert it to mpeg-4. I do not kno what "quality" would be best fit for the job if I want a really fast job? please help Thank you
it shouldn't be taking that long. How large is the vob file you end up with? and also, what are the specs of your PC, because it could also be a case of very slow puter. Lethal
I'm not much good at computer knowing...but I do know that it is about two years and very fast. I played around with it and found that i can convert a 45 minute show in approx 30-40 minutes. I am now concerned about the size. If you know like if i should do mpeg or H264, and what kbps and stuff that would be MUCH appreciated. Thank you very much and also Thank you for the excellent step by step guide in your thread. Helped me like you will never know
Hey man. Thanks, it is pleasant to be appreciated. Here is what you should be looking at as a general limit for h.264/.mp4. It doesn't really matter which one you convert to (recommend .mp4) Here are the limits for the two formats with regards to compatibility with the iPod [bold]H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320x240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats. MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480x480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats [/bold] If you still need more help, pls feel free to post back
yea i understand that but i was wondering which one you would reccommend for good picture but also around 110 mpeg. I am using one right now and i am very happy with the picture but when there's a solid color in the background (like a teal wall of a building) then it get's kinda spongy/splotchy same with upclose colors and just solid colors in general thank you
Does this happen on all of your videos? If you want near-DVD quality video on your iPod, you should encode at anything between 1750-2500kbps(video) with you audio set at a reasonable 128kbps .mp3. Note, though, It will take up much more space, but should get rid of any 'blotches' that you appear to be getting now
hey, i just joined, and Lethal_B you seem to know what ur talking about, ive been trying to figure out how to put dvds on my ipod using DVD Decrypter to rip it then Videora ipod converter to convert it, i followed your instructions, but when i get to the videora part, i can find the file fine, and i open it but when i start it, it goes strait to complete and doesnt show up in the outgoing folder. any advice?
hey, nevermind, i figured it out, i think it had to do with the fact that i was on a profile that didnt have administrative rights, but im good now.
