Hi there, first off thanks for taking your time to read my question, answer is needed desperately. I have put together a couple of VOB files to make a DVD. I began authoring using Ifoedit, and then followed by TMPG DVD Author. However, after doing everything, I encountered a problem for its final outputting. The error msg is "*The combined bitrate of the clip exceeds the upper limit for a standard DVD.

The combined bitrate of the video and audio of clip "xxxx" of track "xxxx" is exceeding the upper limit for a standard DVD.
The current bitrate is xxx kbps for video, xxx kbps for audio, and xxx kbps combined.
It is necessary with a combined bitrate of less than 9.848Mbps (9848kbps).*"

I was wondering if there is any solution to thto this or if there are any softwares out there that allows u to directly encode the audio of the vob into a lower bitrate..as I've really spent a whole day trying to figure things out. Thanks again. ^-^

Are your original files in MPEG or VOB format before using IFOedit or TMPGEnc DVD Author?

The reason I ask is that I can't understand why are you using IFOEdit AND TMPGEnc DVD Author? You should only need to use the latter.

In any case, you could solve your problem by importing the audio track only to TMPGEnc and selecting "ES (Audio only)" as your output.

Then, go into the settings window and enter a lower bitrate under the audio tab and press "Start".

That should solve your problem pretty easily.

Hi there thanks for the reply! Really appreciate it. Well the files are originally in .VOB format. So I can just import the vobs files into DVD Author and reexport it? Well seems weird but I cant seem to bring the .VOBS into Author DVD software by themselves. I tried figuring tat out but was unable to. I was taught by another fren tat method of using INFOEDIT and then TMPGenc DVD Author... guess he taught me wrong huh LOL.

Oh yess... another thing is that I cant bring the files into DVD Author software as they are unable to open the .IFO file, which is not available unless my files go thru IFOEDIT.

Are you using a bitrate over 9848kbps?
If yes, reduce it a little! You set the bitrate at the last step of the wizard, have a look at the guide you can find at my site (link below) to see how to set the bitrate.

Thanks a lot for the link, haha I've already been to the guides that you have actually. Well hmmz I cant seem to find the part on lowering bitrates though. My files are original .vobs, not mpegs. And they have gone thru the "extra" process of VOBEDIT and IFOEDIT,LOL! So I think the video_ts is actually ready for burning? However, I am using DVDAUTHOR because of the ability to add in a menu. And well, argh tats where the problem comes in, they keep giving me the error tat the bitrate is over... and I've tried exporting the sound as mp2. But then...im stuck, what do I do with the files after this? Sorry...im kinda noob at this hence thats y i posted my question in the newbie forum ^0^

Try Sonic MyDVD ad_aware, this auto adjusts the vob bitrate and then lets you incert a menu etc untill you have got it good, then burn it to DVD-/+R(W).

    Hope this helps :D
