Hi, I'm trying to make my first Divx. I am following the DVD to Divx guide on this website and I have all the updated versions of the tools that it says I need. I followed everything up to the point where it says to use CDEx and do the following...

"now go to Convert menu and select WAV -> MPEG. Now CDEx opens a window where you can add tracks for the task list. Just locate the dir where the WAV is that DVD2AVI created for you and you should see the WAV in the list. From the bottom of the window select Normalize and RIFF-WAV. Finally hit Convert and CDEx will create you a new MP3 file that has WAV extension (so it can be loaded with VirtualDub)."

I used DVD2AVI but it didn't create a wav file...it created a dv2 file...I can't select any wav file because one wasn't created. What should I do? What did I do wrong? Thanks in advance for you help.

DVD2AVI creates a .d2v file which is the video and can create a second file according to the audio settings you make under the audio menu. Look at your guide at the section on audio, it tells you to set the decode option, this makes a wav file. If you left the option set to demux it will pull the audio tracks out as they are, probably AC3. Also make sure you set the track under the audio menu since if it's set to none or a non audio track it won't pull out the audio either.
