i have recently tried to mod my xbox with a mod chip with no success. I had opened it and put it back together, i then turned it on and there was beeping and red and orange lights on the eject button,i have read on the net that it may be something like a thermistor on the mother board but can i get a btter opinion from you guys.
    it is a 1.1 xbox.

Also i have tried to mod a 1.6 xbox with no success i put it back together and it worked fine for a about a week,i took it a friends house and played it and it was fine, i then bourght it home and no power, nothing it was just dead,i found this very strange, what do you guys think is the problem, please help me as i do not want to splash out on another xbox although i will if i have to.

    thanks

did you try to solder when modding them or did you use a solderless adapter?

if you used a solderless, make sure the adapter is sitting nice and tight, also, dont forget to make sure you have the D0 point in the right hole! that will cause your problems too!

there is no adapter in, when i tried to fit it it didn't work, it would not stay in also the bios screen would not come up so i did not use it and took it out. That is with the 1.1 xbox (it was solderless though)

with the 1.6 i only opened it that was all.

the solderless adapters work i have used about 30 and have not had a problem with one.....it sites in right, put them little furrows in if you didnt...and make sure you have the D0 in that is a tricky part....

i need help! i modded my xbox with xbmc and i was playing around with the mc360 skin and was adding a new theme to it, while i was ftp'ing it over i applied it by accident and now all that comes up is a black screen when i turn it on. i tried connecting to FTP but it givs me about 3 seconds of connection to the xbox harddrive at a time which allowes me to do NOTHING.

well if you put the game you softmodded the xbox with in and the saves are still on there then you can use the file manager built into SID 4 and fix what u messed up....
