ok so i modded my xbox and flashed a bios onto it, i'm still trying to figure out how i can put a dashboard on it without needing to burn a CD because i've tried burning one twice with imation and memorex brand media.... both just made the box act like "yea there is a disc in... so what?" (any help you wanna give me you can reply in http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/322889 for me) so anyways, i'm going to be recieving a 'broken' xbox from a friend of mine because he says when you turn it on the fans start spinning but it gets louder and louder then shuts off and he has another so i'm getting the broken one. i'm planning on taking the hdd out of his and putting it in mine, and putting the dvd player into my computer if they are not what are creating his problem... any help on the instillation and formatting or whatever of the hdd would be very much appreciated, and maybe if anyone has some tips on how to maybe combine the tops of our boxes to allow the hdd to fit...
