I have many mp3 folders and what is happening is that mp3 files are leaving folders and forming there own folder. In other words a folder of 20 mp3's is becoming one folder of 18 mp3's and two folders of one mp3 each. I use XPSP2 and keep my HD's defragged and virus free. This is happening on all of my drives, internal as well as external. This only happens to mp3s and no other kind of file. It only happens to certain folders and not to others(but always the same one's). This is ruining my music collection as I have hundreds of folders with thousands of mp3s and cannot figure out which folder the strays came from. I have been using Windows for 10 years and have never seen this before. I use Zone Alarm security suite and run Ad-Aware, A-Squared, Spybot S&D, and AVG regularly. This is weird and any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your music playing program is probably trying to sort the mp3s or something, what do you use (WMP, iTunes, etc.)?
