I know somewhere in these 200+ pages this question has been answered by I can't find it. I'm looking to backup dvds I own. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. Thanks for the time, Jeremy
You should download two freeware apps to start off with. DVD Shrink for ripping/compressing http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm DVD Dectypter for the occasional disc Shrink can't do http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_decrypter.cfm Then you can use whatever burning software you already have for burning the results to disc such as Nero or RecordNow. If you don't have either of these then Burn At Once is a great freeware burning app. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_applications/burnatonce.cfm Once you get these here is a great guide for using these http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/user_guides.htm
Thank you very much, I have roxio, which came with my system. Will I need something better than that? I appreciate it
I would highly, highly recommend anything other than Roxio - it's known to cause many problems that can be avoided with better more professional software such as Nero or RecordNow Max (my personal favorite). Both have a 30-day free trial so you can try them on for size and see which one you prefer. They are both well worth their price considering their versatility, stability and user-friendliness.
OK last thing and I'm out of your hair, I bought that but can't download it? You know what I'm doing wrong by chance?
