I have a DigitalMax DVD Recorder by Lite-on. It came with a DVD-VR disc. I have been able to record from my TIVO and play it in my Toshiba DVD player just fine. My question is, why cant I record a avi file to that DVD-VR disc to play on my Toshiba. I have tried quite a few of converters and none of them see to work or I am not doing it right. Please help before I lose my mind

    Thanks,
    Phil

Well the answer is pretty Simple...You can"t Burn an AVI to the DVD and Play it in your DVD Player because AVI is not the Format used on DVD"s Pluss the DVD Format must have a Certain File Structure before your DVD Player can read them.....

To Put an AVI on to DVD you Must First Convert the AVI to Mpeg-2/DVD Compliant Format...Then you must use a DVD authoring program so you can add any menu"s and Chapters and Scene selections ect and when you are done the Program Formats the Mpeg-2 files and the menu"s ect into a "Video_TS" Folder which Contains the DVD File Structure and then the "Video_TS" Folder gets Burned to DVD in "DVD Video" mode and Then you can Play it in your DVD Player.....

    Cheers
