Does anybody have a clue to what it mean when I insert a dvd into the drive and it does'nt even read it. The neon/yellow light just flashes in and out instead it going to green.I've had The 708 a for almost 2 years.. Does anybody know the life-span of a dvd drive.
Yep, I've just started experiencing the same thing with my 2 year old Plextor 708A in that it won't load certain DVD's and I get the yellow two-blink code (meaning that the player cannot track the proper angle or that the disc is warped.) Sometimes, I have to try several times before a disc is successfully recognized. I tried two different copies of the same pressed DVD and both will not load. Close inspection does not reveal any scratches, fingerprints or dust (I always clean DVD's prior to playing anyway.) I tried to use a new DVD laser lens cleaner as suggested in this forum but, that too will not load in either my DVD and CD Burners, although the cleaner loads fine in my stand alone CD and DVD Players. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?
