plextor 18x burner

    Hi,
    Not sure where these 16x speed drives are that are dearer than the Plextor 760. Anyway, yes with certain media the 760 does write @ upto 18x (this is with 16x media). I have one of these & find it excellent. However for most users the BenQ 1650 is the better value for money drive. You should be able to get 2 1650s' for the price of a 760.
    BTW 18x is only achieved briefly towards the end of the writing of a disc, so the difference between 16x & 18x is a matter of seconds.
