Hey all, just saw these drives at my local Best Buy and was wondering if they were any good. Seems like Plextor is firing off drives left and right, only a few months ago I saw the first 740A in Best Buy and now these new drives! Saw the box and I believe that the 760A is capable of writing on DL at 8x while the 755SA is able to burn on a DL at 10x...don't know much about DL burning speeds but the Dork errr..."Geek Squad" member there told me these are the fastest speeds nowadays. Also if anyone has info on the 760A, how does it measure up to the 740A? Heard somewhere that the 760 is a rebadged BenQ DQ60 or sumthing while the 740 is a BenQ 1640 (Crossflashed mine) Any ideas which is better? I have warranty on my burner and I can exchange it for the newer one if I should find it [bold]defective[bold]. =)

I have a 740A and it is indeed a great drive. I haven't had any problems yet whatsoever. You may be better off getting a Benq, though. Plextor drives are rebadged Benq drives and Plextor drives are a lot more expensive. I paid $80 for my Plextor. You can get a Benq for around $40-$50.
