I seam to have a problem with my DVD burner (type listed in the subject line). I went to burn a movie today and discovered that my drive no longer exists. The drive has completely disappeared from my system. I have tried to install it, but I can't as according to my computer it does not exist. Someone please help me fix this. And if it is not possible to fix it, can you recommend a decent but inexpensive replacement? Thank you in advance for your help, I really appreciate it. Thanks, The Vee
moved to correct forum. does the bios or post screen see the drive? is there an exclamation mark in device manager? any error codes like 19 or 39?
There is an Exclamation mark inside a yellow diamond. I have tried to uninstall then reinstall and and doesn't change the mark.
try this link. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;314060 also disconnect the data cable to the drive, go into windows, shutdown windows & the computer, reconnect the data cable to drive & restart computer to see if windows sees the drive correctly.
