i have two working home edition xp computers in my house one plug and play works and one doesn't.i have a card reader for SD cards (the digital camera cards) plugs right into usb, came w/ a cd but the cd is only 4 windows 98 or earlier. The card reader works for the one computer, not the other. Not just the card reader any plug and play hardware.
it pops up 2 install it and it go through the steps but at the end it says "device not installed properly." "your device might not work properly"

It might be under a section called installed O/S or similar........

Also make sure your PCI peripherals section is set to auto.

said it was uninstalled, it wouldn't let me go on it to install/activate it
