Hi all. When I try to play Video clips on IMDB (for example) with Firefox a bar pops up with - Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page - with an - install missing plugins - tab on the end.

Clicking on that brings up - no suitable plugins were found - and - unknown plugin Video/x-ms-asf-plugin. I click on Manual Install which takes me to the download center for Windows Media Player which I have installed.

Video plays Ok in IE and I'm stuck - any ideas anyone?

    Thanks

It worked! Thanks. The link was a puzzle though - for Netscape Navigator - how did you figure it out?

    You're welcome! Happy to help!

As for the media browser plugins, there are two types, the ones that work for IE and the ones that work in all the other major browsers i.e. Opera, Firefox, and Netscape. All three use the same plugin to play videos. You already had the IE browser plugin because it installs by default with Windows Media Player. So all you needed was the interchangeable plugin to play in other browsers, like Firefox.
