M$ originally expressed a possible service(presumably with fees) to do that; but it never happened, and I don't think it will any time soon. But it sure would help make people want to convert. I think they canned the idea, because it would emphasize the fact that not ALL games are backwards compatible. So you'd have a bunch of people complaining "If I can't use the save, why did you transfer it?" It sounded like an online setup; but I can see why it never became reality. No strong details were ever given, I just remember someone from M$(Pre-launch) mentioning the possibility of it. It's a real two edged sword, and the only way it would work; is if M$ officially supported it, because there's no other way(Aside from modding) to get the files from point a to point b.
