You have to Mod your scanner to hear most cell phone calls and most of the cordless phones have the same freq, and if you cant find them your retarded.(you cant hear 2.4 cordless phones) Most big citys (Police) use digital stuff now and its encrypted or coded or they use there cell phones. You really have too know someone to have them mod a digital scanner and its all illegal as heck. You still hear the county say a lot of good stuff and some citys switch back and forth from digital. the scanner is my fav. toy do to all the crime in this city, I always know whats going on no need to watch the local news.
