Hi People, I've never needed to post before as there's always been someone who had any issues I’ve had and others who fixed them by answering! However I can’t find info on this so would appreciate any info/advice you can offer. I have two specific issues which may in fact be connected to each other. Sorry about the long post but it’s better to give all the info I know rather than leave you guessing and having to ask. I have a Starview4 ‘The Box’ Super USB, I have the latest firmware and all channels are installed correctly. However the signal breaks up (like digital noise/bricks) quite a lot on the sport, movies and other channels too from time to time. When I press the “S.L.” button on the Starview remote on most of my channels (even RTE1) the ‘Quality’ is nearly always 99% but the ‘Level’ is nearly always between 55% & 68%. I’d say that this is the key to my problems. The plot thickens … None of the channels I’m paying for (basic 50 or so from NT<, with DVR) are breaking up although the ‘Level’ reading is between 55% & 68% on these too. So I can’t confirm if the problem is the Starview as I can’t compare it to the DVR as the subscribed channels on both are working fine. (Correction … Sky Sports News is breaking up sometimes on the Starview but not that I've noticed on the DVR) Is there a way to test the ‘quality’/‘level’ signal on the DVR box? If this is also poor then the issue is obviously the signal my house is receiving. BTW I’ve checked and re-checked cables. My second question is about upgrading with the new UP< card (I still use the DVR in another room). I got the new card a few weeks back but haven’t done anything with it. The instructions say 1. Upgrade to new card, 2. Call us when it’s done. This worried me as maybe the Starview will stop working after the upgrade and this is why I haven’t carried out the upgrade yet. Does anybody know if doing this upgrade will affect the Starview? Could it even fix my poor ‘quality’/’level’ issue? Or is there another fix? Thanks for your help people!
Looks like a bad feed coming into your house! Have you checked all your connections? As for the card swap issue that will not affect your SV4 box until the N3 change over is complete
