I placed a 500GB External Hard Drive in a new enclosure and it's gone from not being recognized to being recognized as a generic drive. It also gives a a message saying insert disk. I tried using drivecleanup on the cmd path but it didn't work. I'm not sure if I did it right. Any help would be appreciated and Thamk You in advance.

Does it show in Computer > Manage > Disk Management.
    Maybe without a letter assigned?

Better to run the drive in the computer as a slave for testing if its ok this will rule out the drive, running seagate seatools for windows will also detect any drive issues by running basic short & then long tests,if both past one can assume drive is ok assuming it doesn't drop from detection from with in windows itself
