Hey, this is a really dumb question but is there any way to put some kind of firmware on your ipod so that you could be connected to the outside world?(internet, email, im, etc) Just askin
Indeed, nicklt is correct. Next iPod is rumoured to have connectivity in the form of GPRS, wifi, or bluetooth. But they are just rumours, so we'll have to wait and see ;-)
When the next iPod comes out, do u think there will be some kind of internet/email firmware that will come out? Do you think rock box or Linux will aquire a plug in that will allow you to do this?
I don't see why the next generation of iPod won't have internet capabilities. It a good posibility they will. Apple may even incorporate some kind of thing where you can d/l tunes sraight to your iPod, like on mobile phones.
Heres another question for ya. Do you know of a way to put a mobile version of Windows on an iPod 5G for an OS, just like linux or rock box. Also, is iPod Linux and Rockbox the only other available OS out there that are compatable with an iPod? Thanks in advance Waymon
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2003/10/28/ms_windows_for_ipod_delayed/ Theres this news story which is pretty old, but it does refer to "Windows for iPod" but except for that i have seen no news of Windows OS for iPod. I don't know of any other OS except linux and Rockbox. Lethal might now.
I don't think that will happen for another couple of years.I think it would be too much of a step forward. do you see: ipod's that can play movies, music, see pictures to ipod's with internet connection?
