I was just wondering since I recently set up a wireless network and all. Now that I have a wireless card in my laptop the lan port is free. Is there anyway I can set up a network so i can hook my ps2 into the LAN port on my laptop to get online through my laptop? Just asking because I didn't want to really go buy a wireless gaming adapator when my ps2 is only 2 feet from my laptop, the router is across on the other side of the apt. If anyone knows how to do this i would greatly appreciate it.

    Hey

You should be able, since you have a free RJ45 (Ethernet) plug free, buy a 'Crossover' cable, and plug it from the PS2 to the Laptop.

Im not sure with PS2's so i dont know how 2 set it up...

But once you plug it in, the PS2 should be able 2 access the Wireless LAN aswell.

i have the crossover cable and all but id on't think u can just plug and play it. I need to configure some settings or something. I'm pretty close to a beginner when it comes to networking, i know about ftping and all that just have never set up a network through a computer before

If you are running Windows XP on the Laptop it should be pretty much plug and plag.

As for the PS2, im not sure, you may have to enter a IP into it manually, eg 192.168.0.5 or something like that.

The XP machine should already have a IP from the wireless therefore not needing another.
