anyone know about postal scales? I have been shipping books and am now tired of going to the post office and i have looked at the cheap scales on ebay but do not know what to look for. My plan is tomorrow when i drop off the next book at the post office to find out how accurate scales have to be at different weight intervals.
Any info on what to look for when buying a scale or a good one would help.
    Thanks

If it's a business-type thing, you can get a postage-scale for less than $200. That might be a way to go, and you can have the mail carrrier take the packages with him when he drops off.

When I was selling video games on ebay for a short time, I used one of those wallet-size digital scales. I'm not saying that will work for you, but it was cheap. That thing might not be able to weigh books being them so heavy, but I could weigh video games by sitting a disposable plastic drinking cup on it, then hitting the tare button to turn it back to zero, then just sit the game on top of the cup. I'm pretty sure you could get one of those for $30 easily, on ebay, but I wouldn't go for the ones that look like they're just trying to suck you in and make a sale; you probably know what I'm talking about.

But remember if you get one to make sure you know it's able to weigh the type of stuff you're doing (if you're weighing 5 lb books, make sure it goes that high.) Hope this helps.
