Potential pc build, Any sugg?

    I have a Gateway 500s and need some upgrades i wanna replace the mb,processor and ramn and probly wanna run vista i have an exsiting pc with xp on it, heres what i came up with:

    Ive already have liteon dvdrw drive,and a liteon cdrw drive, 160,40 gb hardrive

    I wanna use an existing case i have its a Gateway 500s case, dont wanna spend too much but dont wanna be too cheap either. mailly wanna use if for converting video to dvds with convertxtodvd,ect and some multitask without just doing one thing.

    CPU and RAM are ok, motherboard is a bit naff, use this one instead:

    If you're doing lots of DVD conversion and video editing though, you might want to consider 2GB of RAM, and a faster CPU like these:

    For what it's worth, you may as well get a decent cooler like this one:

    and then overclock the CPU. It's dead easy on Gigabyte motherboards, and with either the CPU you listed or the E6750, you could achieve a good overclock.

    ok thanks will these items be fines to run windows vista like vista ultimate? I dont dont do too much video conversion but when i do i want it to be a lil faster as what it can do now basically. And i dont do any gaming at all.

    They will, but for performance I recommend going with Windows XP.

    ok thanks forgot to edit another question, Will the current case i have be ok to install it in? and what do u reccomend a video card fairly inexpensive but good to add on?

    If you're going to add a new graphics card, you'll probably need to change the power supply, so this is where it gets difficult, because the means by which you attach one may be specific to the Gateway Power supplies.
