Hello, there was a power outage at my home and my Dell PC wont load. It turns on and i can see the Dell Logo, but then when it hits to the Windows page it just shows it loading-wont go past that point. i've already tried starting it in safe mode. Please help
How do i do that? it wont start in safe mode...it does the same thing-just takes me to the "Windows" page and stays on that blue screen as if it's loading up...
Do you have the Windows disc ? If so then boot from it then proceed like your going to reinstall then at the second screen repair windows . Follow the guide in this link . http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/How-to-repair-Windows-XP-t138.html
press f110 ,f11 or f12 before going into windows as will then boot from recovery partition of your hard drive.
I ran that recovery partition and it gave this message: Error code IDE device failed. Blank media or no media is present in optical drive. Test requires media with digital data. Resource CD, Installation CD. So does that mean i have to re-install Windows XP? I dont have the original disk and not sure where to download the software safely. Please help. Thanks.
