press f110 ,f11 or f12 before going into windows as will then boot from recovery partition of your hard drive.

I ran that recovery partition and it gave this message:

    Error code
IDE device failed. Blank media or no media is present in optical drive. Test requires media with digital data. Resource CD, Installation CD.

So does that mean i have to re-install Windows XP? I dont have the original disk and not sure where to download the software safely. Please help. Thanks.
