power supply problem?

    Please refer to my previous post for system components. Anyway, when I shut down windows XP after about 5-10 minutes the computer will restart on its own. To prevent this you must physically flip the on/off switch on the power supply. This only occured after the PC's last trip to the repair shop. Otherwise, it worked like all other machines, shut downs= power off. Please let me know what I can do to fix this.

    check in bios for possible setting to wakeup the computer & disable it. also disable power management in the bios

    what size of psu do you have??

    400W I believe, I did have a neon light in the case, but was told that it was probably drawing too much power.

    Does your telephone ring usually before it powers back up?

    nope, no ringing telephones

    is the wakeup lan enabled in the bios & if so disable it

    As ddp suggested, looks like there is a 'wake up' setting enabled in the BIOS............
