I attempted to replace the power switch on my NDS Lite and the contacts or feet came off the m/b with the old broken power switch.. anyone have any thoughts on how I can repair this? It does seem to work when I hold the new power switch down on in its position, but I cannot get the solder to stick to the m/b.. obviously because it doesnt have anything to solder to.. please let me know your thoughts..
If you want to repair this one you need to have pretty nifty soldering skills. You will need a small soldering iron fine tip no more than 25w and some desolder wick. Put in the new switch and fix any points that you can (the ones where the track has not fallen off) you will now need to trace the track from the broken switch solder connection to a point where you can get to the track but befoe any other component, scrape off the green insulating cover from the board and wire this point to the switch, this is not very easy but if handy with a soldering iron it is possible, once working stick the wire down to prevent it virating and breaking off.
