I use PowerDVD, and up until yesterday I was able to use its DirectShow Filters to play DVDs in other apps. Yesterday I started using Mark's Tray DVD Player to test DVD Remake's output. I know it was using the Cyberlink filters because it has a feature that tells you what filters it's using and it listed the Cyberlink filters. For no apparent reason the filters are no longer available. I found a program called RadLight Filter manager that shows all the filters on your PC, but the filters didn't show up at all. I tried registering them myself, but it failed. I uninstalled PowerDVD and got an error when the uninstaller tried to unregister filters (cldxva.ax, claudfx.ax, clusd.ax, and claud.ax). No doubt it failed because they weren't registered any more. Then I reinstalled and didn't get any error messages, but the filters still weren't registered. I tried registering them manually again, but it failed again. I uninstalled again, found and removed every Cyberlink registry entry and reinstalled. Same problem. PowerDVD works fine, but nothing else will play DVDs for me and I can't register the classes.

Never Mind. I tried installing an old version of WinDVD and got errors registering filters with it, so I decided to reinstall DirectX. Problem solved.
