Brand new to these forums and yes I have used the search but cannot seem to find what I am looking for. I am on an ASUS z70va notebook with a ATI mx700 vid card with newest omega drivers. I am using powerdvd 6 but also have installed VLC and WMP. I open a dvd movie with powerdvd(whether its an .iso or .img mounted on alcohol 120% or a retail or burned disc) and the program opens and everything looks ok until the playback window (not full screen) opens and the movie is playing but the playback window is "blacked out". I can see a sliver of the movie playing "behind" the black rectangle along the edges of the window and the sound is all good. When I switch to full screen mode there is not the border of the movie around the edges but the sound is still there. If the movie is at the main menu I can mouse over the blacked out playback window and see my curser change from an arrow to a pointer finger and I can click on the "button" that I cannot see. I have no trouble with VLC or WMP. I have uninstalled and reinstaled Powerdvd twice. This problem started "all of a sudden", meaning that I have not installed anything that would make me suspect software conflict. I am way new to all of this and would love to know if anyone knows what the culprit is. Thanks!!
Figured out the problem. Turns out that Stardock/Objectdock doesn't play nice with powerdvd. Something to do with the alphablending.
