I just purchased a Pioneer A05 and I have some problems with the software. Enclosed with the burner is the Sonic-MyDVD and Instant CD/DVD. Reading through the forums I discovered Prassi Primo and DVD Decrypter software were advised. Both programs I downloaded and both can't recognize the Pioneer A05. Is this normal, aren't they compatible, should I use other software to back-up my PS2 games and DVD's? I'm a very old fashioned Windows 98 (1st edition) user. Can this have something to do with it? Does anyone have any experiance with the Sonic MyDVD and Instant CD/DVD software? Please respond. Ajanana
hey, i just purchased the same dvd burner......check on the box, it says it supports Win 98 SE......that might be your problem
I also just got a A05 and had trouble with nero,( the software that came with it) What is the proccess to making a direct copy of a dvd?
PrimoDVD is old program. You may need to get the update pxEngine358 on there wedsite. This may solve the problem. I have a Pioneer DVR105 and had the same problem. I did try the update but dint work for me. Im using windows xp and get a runtime error. But theres like a new version of PrimoDVD Recordnow Max 4.10 then update to 4.5 this program rules and recognize all the pioneer dvdrw. For PS2 Games u need pioneer dvdr or some like pioneer media quality. PS2 is quite picky on reading some dvdr media. So u may fail the firts time on backing ur PS2 games if u have cheap dvdr media like i had =) But pioneer works great.
Genius1 U cant make a direct copy of a dvd movie. What u can do is make a backup of u dvd movies. U need to read the DVD Riping around Afterdawn for help direct copy for a dvd rom like PS 2 Games u need Recordnow 4.5 nero express works too. DVD primo 2.00 if u have a older Pioneer.
That website shows how to do it with prassi, but it's saying that i didn't have any compatible drives, but i have the new A05
The A05 doesn't work with PrimoDVD. Use Recordnow Max instead. It's basically got the same features as PrimoDVD with the same kind of GUI but with better options.
TRy new software, to copy dvd's get 321 studios dvdXcopy. To burn dvd video files try, stomp record now max. To rencode divx, avi movies to dvd format use TMPGE plus. Then use any dvd authoring software you want to add menus's. pS. The only thing I dont know how to do is create motion menu's for my movies can any one help me out with this??
If you want a guide for Recordnow max for burning PS2 games go here: http://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk/RecordNow_Max_Tutorial.htm Use the latest version of Nero for burning DVD movie files i.e VOB, IFO, BUP etc, thats if your making a backup of a DVD5 movie (Single Layer). But first you must remove the protection via Smartripper, remove macrovision then burn the files back with nero. I personally use this program as it's quick and easy.
I tried downloading recordnow max, but it says unable to download,.....etc, contact vendor. Is there another way?
Also when i open nero, it will only let me copy to cd-r/rw, it doesn't give me an option to copy to dvd-r/w.
Look I told you, ethier get stomp record now max or get a different version of nero! now get your head straight and settle down!
What the fusk is your problem y2k or whatever, if u don't know the answer just say so. There has to be someother way to make this work using this program. And when i tried downloading stomp recordnow max or 4.1 it was unable to download.
I have serious problems butning with my new A05. I used to have an A02 which worked great but was slow. After upgrading to A05 I rarely get one good copy when I burn - I'm so pissed. What really gets me is that the programs, Nero (latest) and DVDXCOPY always tell me it's ok but when looking on the film in my computer it usually lock up somewhere in the middle and they almost never work in my stand alone DVD-player. Is there a firmaware-issue or so? Have you noticed these problems?
Right people calm down, were here to help one another not to swear. Genius1 Here is the homepage to obtain RecordnowMax 4.50 latest version. http://www.stompinc.com Also, what version of nero have you got? You need V.5564 and above to choose the option to copy dvd's, etc. Crotzari. What version of DXC do you have? I would reccommend d/l either 1.30 or 1.31. If your copying a DVD-5 (Single Layer) use Smartripper to rip the files, remove protection, etc. Then use Nero to burn the files back. Regards to your movies locking up, it could be the media that your using. Go for branded Dvd-r media. Also, try switching between Standard (ISO/UDF) and (Alternate UDF). I have to change to UDF if wanna copy a dvd and watch it on my Xbox. This could be the same for the Dvd player that your using.
