OK, I ran out of a color cart this morning in my Epsons CX6400 and now when I try to print black only, the printer will not let me. The "out of ink" message keeps coming up.

In the meantime, while I wait for my color ink to arrive, is it possible to bypass this message and print something in black only.

Probably not. I'm sure that when you tried to print you made sure and set the printer properties to greyscale.
I had a similiar model and they safegaurd the machine from running on empty nozzles by simply blocking all print jobs if any of the tanks are too low. You would have to fool the sensors that check your ink levels but I DO NOT SUGGEST DOING THAT unless it's just a throwaway printer anyway.

    Thanks for the help.

It is not a throwaway. My ink should be here by Wednsday, guess I will have to wait it out.
