Yelp! Any suggestions on how I can print my dvd covers properly? I have no problems printing them on legal size paper but my objective is to print them on standard size photo paper (A4). I have a pretty good hp (photo) printer and Acoustica DVD Labeller (v 2.55) if that helps. Thanks folks. (PS: Hope this was the right forum to post)
Well; the way I normally print high quality covers is first go to covers.box.sk and find the highest quality for the movie cover I want. Then, I'll let that dl and save it to disk. If necessary; I'll do some editing to it in The GIMP (touch up w/ the clone brush; filtering; resizing (rarely)) and then use Nero Cover Designer In order to print. With that method; I can print out a good amount of covers w/out paying for those over priced (imo) dvd case inserts where they're perforated and you don't have to cut them out. Not that it's a bad way to go though. P.S. I always wait for sales @ places like Office Depot & Office Max for my photo paper..........although; when i'm done with the epson; ill switch over to something else in the case that I find something I like more. P.S.P.S. If you haven't already heard; DON'T USE ADHESIVE DISC LABELS FOR YOUR DVDS! When I was new here that was the first thing I did and I had no idea at how it would wreck my collection. The thing is; people will sit there and say "I just put on labels and for two weeks now, they've been working great!"<---------------Yeah; right; just give it a few more months and you'll see a disc w/ no scratches; yet every time you put it in the dvd player; the video jitters and is pixelated....... i scan the original cover with a good scanner,like a paperport scanner,at 800dpi....and i use a template for covers.. and print it with a hp-5550 printer using ret4... on the below paper it looks better then the original and i buy Office Depot brand photo paper.its a very heavy and good paper and its water-proof...meaning the ink will not run if water gets on the paper and its cheap...i buy the paper when it on sale.. per 100 pk.... its called,premium high gloss photo-paper... 8 1/2 x 11" sheets 69lb,10.25 mils 260gm cheers
