I am looking for a softwre that will allow me to print premade dvd inserts. Once the perforated margins are removed, the insert remains, so, the printing measurements have to be adjustable. Presently, I am using DVD and CD Cover Print which works great except that about 1/4 of my prints come out extremely washed out looking regardless of what settings I select. Coverxp looks good; any comments on it? Thankyou
coverxp is really good i tried the trial version and was very impressed with it but it doesnt do actual printing to disc otherwise i would of traded my canon software in for it
My HP printer cuts off about 1/4" of a dvd cover insert. It does, no matter what I do. My Epson R200 prints the whole cover! I use the Memorex software that comes with their insert paper, but only for the templates. I don't like their paper. I use glossy photo paper, and you can't tell the difference from the original. I scan in the cover, size it to the template, print it out, let it dry overnight, cut it and put it in the case. If a cover is messed up (sometimes are when I buy dvd from pawn shop), I'll get one from cdcovers.cc and then do the same. They work very well. As I said........ you can't tell the difference from the originals. Good luck! If 1/4" is messed up now on your printouts, it probably will be, no matter what software you use. I think it's your printer. I hope I'm wrong though.
It's not the size of the prints. No problems there; it's the fact that quite a few prints are extremely faded, no matter the settings. For example, I recently printed the same cover 4x and 2 were great and 2 were terribly washed out. Same settings and no ink problems. Thanks for the replies; I think I'll trial coverxp. It looks and sounds very good.
are you sure its not the print head on your printer needs replacing, i kept getting that washed out look and then i replaced the head and now its fine
It's been on 2 different printers now, the latest being an Epson R320 that is only 6 months old and the other is only 11/2 years old and prints great. I realize that new items can be defective but printable dvd and a few articles print fine although 1 dvd did print faded out of about 100. Also, don't know if this would show anything but print head maintenance shows fine. Thanks, good to know for future problems
I just printed 4 covers to plain paper and they came out fine. I don't think 4 covers ever printed properly using the print software but I can't say for sure. It's a shame to change to another program but that and waiting to see what happens appear to be my only options.
Not much faith in that. Half the time, things come back as fine when I know they're not. Last time, it was the motherboard in my computer. I took it to a very reputable shop and they said it was fine. I actually had to argue with them to recheck it and, sure enough, it was faulty. I just did 3 more covers ouside the program and they were fine. I know for a fact that I was never able to make this many prints with the print program where a print wasn't faded. But, if I ever see another faded print outside the print program, in it goes. Now, I'm looking for it to fail. I havent't printed any photos yet but I plan to in the future, so prints have to be good.
