did u check for firmware updates for your dvd drives ? also is your firwire on pci slot - if so make sure it is seated in the slot - shutdown your pc - reboot - to clear it out of the system - shutdown - re-install pci card and reboot and install drivers ,,, it looks like a device conflict to me ....
