problem about vlc media player

    I've downloaded a movie (a .mkv file), and to watch it I've downloaded vlc media player. there is sound but no video. what should i do?

    Generally, I would just tell you to download a codec pack; But this may or may not fix the problem. So instead, get VideoInspector, and determine what audio and video codecs you need to suitably play the video file first. Afterwards, download the necessary codec(s) for proper playback.
