I'm having trouble burning a copy of my copy of the Italian Job. I've tried DVDxCopy Express and DVD shrink. Has anyone else had any problems, and if so any ideas of a solution? Thanks for any feedback.

I made a couple backups of backups yesterday. I used the trial version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD. I'm not surprised that Express didn't work. Seems to me that Shrink should have worked though, at least to get the vid files onto your hard drive. Have you been using other burning programs beside Express?

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear, I'm trying to make a back-up of my original Italian Job. Its not a back-up of a back-up. And I usually use DVDxCopy Express unless there is a problem, then I use DVDshrink and NERO. Thanks for any feedback.

What sort of problem is it?

Be more specific with your question as you will only get a solution faster.

Here is what DVDshrink says after analyzing 97% of the disc (I've tried it 5 times and it always stops at 97%)

DVD Shrink has encountered an error and connot continue
    The Error Is:
    Failed to read from file
The reason is: Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)

Anyone know what the hell that means? Thanks for any feedback.

Yeah, you should just play the dvd for a couple of minutes on your computer, then use DVD shrink. That usually does the trick. If it doesnt, you may have a scratch or some other flaw

I found out somewhere that DVDXCOPY won't let you make backup of a backup copy dvd movie. Only works when backup from original disc.

cyclic redundancy is dirty disc. you need to clean it, check for scratches, etc. sometimes you can get by it with decrypter if you continue to have problems.

Can't use DVD Decrypter cause the movie is too big. Unless there is a way that I don't know of with Decrypter. I tried playing the disc on the computer for about 10 minutes, then tried DVD Shrink but still gave me the error. I'll check it when I get home for scratches or dirt. Thanks for all the input.

you use decrypter to rip only. No movie is too big for decrypter. After you rip, then you compress with shrink, dvd2one, clonedvd, etc.

    Have you tried AnyDVD OHIOguy?
His little program decrypts the DVD on-the-fly while you just use CloneDVD to compress and then burn.

Its worth a try and if you get stuck, there is a guide for Clone on my site. (Link below) :D

I've tried Shrink and Decrypter and I get an error in both of them, so I've got to assume that there is some damage on the disc, even though I don't see any. I'll take a look at the other programs, but I've got a feeling nothing is gonna work with this one. THanks for all the help everyone.
